"In the author's own
words, "The first Test match between Australia and
England at Headingley was played in 1899... the Third
test in 1997 completed a century of Test matches at this
historic ground." So to help him commemorate what
might have been the last Ashes' Test at Headingley, Ashley
Morrison gave a cross-section of the spectator's disposable
cameras and asked them to help him record through their
pictures and his words, that milestone game for posterity.
The resultant photographs add colour and flavour to his
21 page analysis of the maych. The highlights of the
previous 21 Ashes clashes at Headingley have also been
included in this labour-of love publication. They're
all there: Boycott's 100th first class century, Botham's
knickerblocker-glory innings."

"This is an excellent, highly informative centenary
souvenir which is bound to be hard to obtain in a year
or two."
